What Is Category 2 Water?
Category 2 water is often referred to as “grey water.” This water is contaminated and can cause illness and discomfort. While category 2 water may be clean water that sits too long, other common sources of category 2 water are the following:
• Washing machines
• Dishwashers
• Sinks
• Toilets
However, if feces are present, it’s category 3 water. Be advised that category 2 water can quickly turn into category 3 water, which is the most dangerous type. Temperature, time and cleanliness of the building are often responsible for upgrading category 2 water to category 3 water.
